5 days to departure, and 3 days of work left !
I leave on Thursday, the packing is nearly done, the accommodation in San Sebastián is sorted ( staying with a Spanish lady in the very centre of town, how perfect is that), the euros are in my wallet, so I think and hope all is in order. I haven't done as much training as I would have liked, but hey, that just means the first week will be on-the-walk training.
This weekend was a lovely "Christmas in July" down in Margaret River, with excessive food, wine, Secret Santa, children running around, decorations etc and a great farewell. The photograph is outside the Colonial Brewery, excuse the squinting face as I try to avoid the sun in my eyes, and Andy can recommend the burger as one of the best he has ever eaten. The cow, well that's just a feature of the area, cow statues everywhere.
More to follow from San Sebastián.

Weight training for the Camino ....
.... and the start of my blogging career.
10 kg pack, 18 km, from Fremantle to Point Walter, to the East Street Jetty, and back home. Seems crazy, particularly as it’s all on concrete, but this was the first load-carrying day of training for the Camino.
I was lucky, the weather was perfect, cool in the shade and warm in the sun, so hopefully good practise for Northern Spain in the summer. A couple of good stops, for lunch with Andy at Point Walter, then a milkshake at the East Street Jetty, certainly helped, and do mimic the routine of the Camino.
The legs and feet are a little sore now, but not too bad. Could I do the same tomorrow ? I’ll work that out tomorrow morning !
